In March, I mentioned recommending a “Thing to Read” each mid-month moving forward. I’ve decided to use the “Thread” feature of Substack to distribute this information. Threads are a shorter-form version of articles. They are also set up to encourage commentary and discussion. I want this to be interactive and would love to hear your thoughts about these books.
The theme of this month’s RARE SENSE article was learning how to simply be, in contrast to always doing. However, a necessary precursor to such an endeavor is ignoring the constant barrage of media scaring you into caring about absolutely everything in existence. With that goal in mind, April’s “Thing to Read” is The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson. It’s both insightful and hilarious.
You can find an Amazon link to this book and others on the Resources page of the RARE SENSE website. Remember that mind fitness isn’t just about being happy or feeling good. It’s also about not being a moron. Go read a book.
