Last week we kicked things off with ten minutes of meditation a day. Hopefully, you gave that a shot. This week we will work on an ideal beginner’s breathing exercise—alternate nostril breathing. Physiologically, this technique helps balance your nervous system's sympathetic and parasympathetic sides. And manipulating your nose almost requires that you focus your attention on breathing. It’s harder for your mind to wander.
Try this three times a day this week for five minutes at a time. Ideally, once in the morning, once at midday, and once in the evening.
